Frequently Asked Questions About Doodle Puppies

Doodle Puppies in Canada

Below are some of the most common questions families have about North Lake Doodles, our breeding program, and bringing home a Doodle puppy. If you have additional questions, we are always happy to help.

An Aussie Doodle is a cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. This combination creates a highly intelligent, affectionate, and active companion dog.

Aussie Doodles are known for their trainability, loving personalities, and beautiful coats. Because they inherit traits from both breeds, they are often very people-oriented and thrive in homes where they are part of everyday family life.

A Cavapoo is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle.

Many Cavapoos are considered low shedding, especially those that inherit more of the Poodle coat. However, shedding levels can vary depending on the genetics of the individual puppy.

Puppies with curly coats tend to shed the least, while wavy coats may have minimal shedding. Regular grooming and brushing are important to keep their coats healthy and mat-free.

Yes! Doodles and Cavapoos can make wonderful family companions. Both are often affectionate, playful, and enjoy being involved in family life.

Doodles tend to suit families who enjoy regular exercise, outdoor adventures, and training activities. Cavapoos often appeal to families looking for a smaller, affectionate companion who enjoys playtime and cuddles.

Every dog is an individual, so finding the right match means considering the puppy’s personality alongside your family’s lifestyle. Both need consistent training, daily exercise, regular grooming, and companionship.

With children, we recommend adult supervision and teaching gentle, respectful interactions, including giving your puppy space to rest. We’re happy to help you find a puppy that suits your family!

The best fit depends on your family’s lifestyle, activity level, and what you’re looking for in a companion.

Doodles tend to be bright, active, and eager to learn. They often suit families who enjoy outdoor adventures, regular exercise, and activities that keep their dog’s mind busy.

Cavapoos tend to be affectionate, playful, and very people-oriented. They often suit families looking for a smaller companion who enjoys walks and playtime as well as cuddles.

Both need daily exercise, training, companionship, and regular grooming. Neither is guaranteed to be non-shedding or hypoallergenic, and each puppy’s personality is unique.

Yes. Health testing is a very important part of our breeding program. All of our breeding dogs undergo extensive genetic health testing before being included in our program.

Responsible breeding helps reduce the risk of hereditary health conditions and ensures we are producing healthy, well-bred puppies.

North Lake Doodles is located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. We work with families both locally and across Canada who are looking for well-bred Doodle puppies.

Our puppies are typically ready to join their new families at around 8 weeks of age. This allows them time to properly develop, socialize with their littermates, and receive early care before transitioning to their new homes.

Our puppies are raised with care and leave our home with the proper early support they need. Puppies typically go home with:

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • A health check
  • A microchip
  • Early socialization and handling
  • Information to help you transition your puppy home
  • A puppy gift pack, including:
    • A bag of the food your puppy is already eating, plus coupons for it
    • A measuring cup for their food
    • Treats, toys and chews
    • A blanket with their mother’s scent
    • Poop bags
