Excellence is never accidental. It is cultivated — generation after generation. Rooted in the rich agricultural landscape of the Fraser Valley of British Columbia and in the expansive beauty of Montana — Big Sky Country – our dogs are raised in environments that naturally foster strength, balance, and clarity of temperament. Open skies, clean air, and space to roam are not luxuries here — they are the foundation.
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Sara-Jane, I’m a wife, a mom of four, a grandmother and someone who found her true calling in the most unexpected of ways — through the family dog. What started almost by accident has grown into a heartfelt passion and a carefully built program that I pour everything into.
Before breeding, I spent years working as a caregiver — and that same instinct to nurture, protect, and advocate for others naturally carried over into how I raise my dogs. Every puppy that comes through our home is handled with that same dedication. Our program represents over a decade of meticulous selection, disciplined genetic planning, and an unwavering commitment to quality. This is not a pastime. It is our sole occupation and our life’s work.
Along the way, I fell completely in love with the science and genetics behind dog breeding. What began as a hobby quickly became a mission — to understand the building blocks of health, temperament, and structure at the deepest level, and to use that knowledge to produce the finest dogs I possibly can. I believe that great breeding isn’t just an art; it’s a science, and I take both seriously.
Operating across both Canada and the United States has been an incredible advantage — it has opened the door to a diverse and carefully selected pool of breeding stock and genetic lines that I simply wouldn’t have access to otherwise. That reach allows me to make thoughtful, strategic pairings with health and quality always at the forefront.
Beyond the dogs themselves, this is about the people, too. The families and individuals who reach out to me trust me with something that matters — and I don’t take that lightly. Ethical practices aren’t a checkbox for me; they’re the foundation of everything I do, from how my dogs are raised, to how I communicate, to every commitment I make to the families I work with. Our dogs reside throughout the United States and Canada — from refined urban residences to working farms and mountain properties. Many of our placements come through personal referrals — families who proudly share our name after experiencing the quality and temperament of our dogs firsthand.
Reputation, for us, is earned quietly and consistently. I am so proud of what this program has become — and I’m just getting started. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I hope to get to know you and your family too.
Julie is a mother of five whose life has been defined by one thing — showing up for others.
For over 20 years she devoted herself as a full-time caregiver, first to her own daughter, and later to adults living with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
For Julie, caring was never just a job. It became part of who she is.
Our paths crossed through a shared belief in the value of that kind of dedication, and it quickly became clear that Julie was a natural fit for North Lake Doodles.
Her commitment to quality, health, and integrity wasn’t something she had to be convinced of — it was already woven into everything she did.
Her journey in breeding began with a single dog named Bella. That first litter changed everything. The experience of nurturing new life and witnessing the bond that forms from day one lit something in her that she hasn’t looked back from since.
Julie believes deeply in early socialization, calm and structured routines, and hands-on care from the very beginning. And if you can’t find her? She’s probably on the couch, napping with a puppy tucked under her chin, right where it belongs.
Seven Generations of Excellence.
Bred with purpose.
Mastered through genetics.
Perfected through temperament and health.
This philosophy reflects the foundation of North Lake Aussie Doodles. Each generation of dogs has been carefully developed through intentional breeding decisions that focus on health testing, strong genetics, stable temperaments, and proper structure.
Over the years we have learned how certain traits are passed down through generations, allowing us to make better and better decisions with every litter. Responsible breeding is not something that happens by chance—it comes from experience, observation, and a deep understanding of the dogs themselves.
Our program continues to evolve as we work to improve the quality, stability, and health of the dogs we produce.
We are especially proud of our Guardian Home Program — a structure that ensures each of our dogs is deeply integrated into a loving family environment.
Unlike high-volume kennel operations, our model guarantees that no dog is one among many. Each is known, nurtured, and valued as an individual. This boutique approach allows us to maintain exceptional standards while preserving the emotional wellbeing of every dog in our program.

Every breeding decision at North Lake Doodles is made with intention. Genetics, health testing, temperament, and structure all play a role in determining which dogs are paired together.
By studying the lines we have developed over the years, we are able to make thoughtful decisions that continue improving our program. Each generation builds on the strengths of the one before it, creating dogs that are healthy, intelligent, and well suited for family life.
This level of care and attention allows us to consistently produce puppies that grow into loyal companions for the families who welcome them.
North Lake Aussie Doodles is a family-centered breeding program located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, led by breeder Sara-Jane, who has spent more than twelve years dedicating her life to raising healthy, well-tempered dogs. What began as a small and unexpected start has grown into a carefully developed breeding program built on knowledge, experience, and a deep commitment to the dogs and families we serve.
At the heart of our program is a simple belief: dogs should be bred with purpose. Health, temperament, and long-term genetic improvement guide every decision we make. Our focus has never been on producing large numbers of puppies, but on continually refining our lines so that each generation becomes better than the last.
Today, we are proud to be raising the seventh generation of dogs bred directly through our program, something that represents years of thoughtful breeding, study, and dedication.
